Dan Gomez

TREASURER

Sergeant Dan Gomez began his law enforcement career in 2000. He came to the Pomona Police Department in 2005. He has previously worked Patrol, Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF), Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force (LA IMPACT), and Vice. He is currently a member of the SWAT team and an assistant Rangemaster. Dan is currently assigned to Patrol. He was elected to the PPOA Board in December 2019. Dan Gomez was appointed Treasurer in 2022.

Paul Harvey began his law enforcement career in 1991 when he was accepted as a Police Explorer with the Covina Police Department. In 1995, he was hired as a Police Cadet with the Chino Police Department. As a cadet, he attended California State University, Fullerton, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Linguistics. He became a sworn peace officer in 1997 and has since held various positions with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the Redding Police Department, and the Pomona Police Department. During the last twenty-five years, he has worked a variety of assignments, such as Custody/Corrections, Law Enforcement Security Services, Patrol, Field Training Officer (FTO), Explorer Advisor, Lead Investigator, and Detective. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Pomona Police Officers’ Association (PPOA) as the Secretary—a position he also held in 2017. He has previously served twice as a PPOA Director and as the First Vice President of the Redding Peace Officers’ Association.

Officer Conley

K-9 Officer Conley began his career law enforcement in 1996 when as a Pomona Police Explorer. He has been a Pomona Police Officer since 2000. He currently serves as a K9 handler and with his partner “Jax” who is the police department's only bloodhound. Officer Conley is also a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team He was elected to the PPOA board in December of 2016.

Jorge Aleman

Detective Jorge Aleman is a U.S. Army Veteran.  He began his law enforcement career in 2002 with the Pomona Police Department. He has previously worked Patrol, School Resource Officer and as Motor Officer.  He has served as a Field Training Officer, Motor Instructor and as the Senior Major Accident Investigation Team Investigator.  He was elected to the Pomona Police Officers Association in December of 2022.  Detective Aleman was raised in the City Of Pomona and is bilingual is Spanish.

Mike Sutton

Director

Mike has served the City of Pomona for over five years. While assigned to the Operations Division of the Department, he was appointed as an FTO who was assigned many trainees who ultimately found success through his guidance. His decision making, tactics, in depth investigations as well as his leadership qualities recently led him to being chosen as a member of the Special Investigations Unit.

Though his career is law enforcement based, Mike has retained his EMT certification for over ten years. His passion for medicine and helping others drove him into assisting with Pomona PD’s revamp in their First Aid/CPR program. New tactical medical equipment has now recently been dispersed throughout the patrol fleet. The medical equipment will undoubtedly result in the preservation of life when put into use.

Mike has a desire to improve the community as well as the department. He hopes to accomplish these goals by constantly striving to be better and encouraging others to also improve themselves.

Tim Dorn

Director

Cumulating over a decade of law enforcement experience, Tim has excelled as a Corporal and Field Training Officer within the Operations Division. Demonstrating strong leadership and meticulous attention to detail, Tim has proven his capabilities as a Background Investigator and a proficient Civilian Report Writer Supervisor.

Beyond core responsibilities, Tim has embraced diverse ancillary roles, contributing significantly as a member of the Peer Support Team, a proficient Drug Recognition Expert, a valued Crisis Negotiation Team Member, and a dedicated Mental Health Evaluation Officer in the Mental Health Unit.

Approaching each task with unwavering commitment and a dedication to growth, Tim strives to leave a positive mark on the law enforcement community and uphold a standard of excellence in public service.
